I had to admit that I had the best birthday ever. We "technically" celebrated my birthday on my surprise trip to Atlanta, so all we had planned for my birthday was a nice dinner with friends which we did on Tuesday night. But we ended up getting cheap tickets for Black Island Farms for Wednesday and it was a blast. We also decided to start a new tradition...
My favorite part of this day was that it felt so relaxed and not rushed. During our hay ride, this flock of black birds flew overhead, moving together like one body. It was such a gorgeous day!

A Whacky Wednesday Party
The girls and I have been reading Dr. Seuss' Whacky Wednesday
and it has quickly become one of our very favorites. It's about a boy
that wakes up on a Wednesday morning and certain things around him are
whacky. The girls and I changed things around in our dining room at
lunchtime and then I had picked up a few whacky things that morning
during my shopping spree at Old Navy (hello stuff n' save).
And these mustaches!
I had randomly found these mustaches at Old Navy that morning and then when I got home I had a birthday card from my mom that was, believe it or not, a dancing and singing mustache. How ironic.
Soon after lunch, we headed out to Black Island Farms together. David took the rest of the day off of work and we met up with Ben and Camille Garrison, which is also becoming a tradition.
Good ole' Eloise.
She was so proud of this pumpkin, just like she was with the one she got at Octoberfest.
This mule brayed at us and Eloise was trying to mimic it.
We're still covered with straw from our "roll in the hay," captured on video by Camille above.
Her facial expressions when she's excited/nervous are the best.
After our afternoon at Black Island Farm, we met up with Gary who was in town for the evening and went out to eat at our very favorite local restaurant, Jasoh's.
My dear friend Janelle sent me a lovely gift, just on time. I love surprises.
And partly out of self-pity, I did order myself the biggest cupcake I could find with a nice "30" on top.
Thirty sounds nice, like I'm graduating to the next level of womanhood. Looking back at the last decade, it's amazing to think that I've lived in Mexico, learned a second language, gone on a mission, married the best man for me, graduated from college, and had four children!
I'd say it's been a good decade.
Here's to 30.
