Just thought I'd let you all know that Eloise is still inside my belly. A lot of you have called or left messages, which we appreciate and unfortunately there is still no news. We went into the doctor on Wednesday (four days overdue) and talked about induction. I was still dilated to a one. My doctor said she would feel okay waiting until Monday at the latest to start a Pitocin drip. We considered doing it earlier, but I REALLY would like my body to start labor naturally and I recently developed a NASTY cough that I would love to have a few days to battle. So here we are. It's so funny to me that we've always wanted to go full term, but going OVERDUE can be so frustrating! The due date is just an estimation anyway, but it's still lodged in your brain and you think something's wrong if the baby isn't here on time. I'm starting to think she'll never really come out! That's silly. But I've cried in the shower about it a few times already. My brain is still pregnant too.
In the hypnobirthing world they say it's safe to go to 42 weeks, but my doctor printed out some recent studies for me to read about that say how risks go up after 41 weeks. I will be 41 weeks this Saturday, but she's out of town until Monday. I will be going in on Friday to have everything looked at and checked out to make sure Monday is still a safe and secure option. She only gains about an ounce every day, so I'm not too worried about size, but you never know. There are so many unknown factors! We originally decided to induce today but I came home SO STRESSED about it. After praying and thinking and talking about it A LOT, I decided I felt better to wait until Monday at the latest.
COME OUT BABY!
We'll keep you posted. Love you all!

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. We'll be praying for you! Love you all!!
Oh man, you are awesome for wanting to wait. I was DYING to get my baby out at 37 weeks! Luckily I had him 2 weeks later, that was about all I could take self-esteem wise! its hard being huge and pregnant towards the end!! Good luck, I cant wait to hear about it...
we love you! i know this is the worst part but she'll be here so soon! enjoy these last couple of days with your family of 4! we'll keep you in our prayers.
Ditto on thanks for the update. I've been thinking about you. I think you are absolutely wonderful! It is hard to wait, I don't know of ANY people who do these days. Kudos to you...and good for you to be up to date and praying for what is best for the baby and you. We'll keep you in our prayers.
I am so sorry Janelle. Tal was 8 days late (that's right it wasn't a week, it was EIGHT days). And I felt every hour of it. It's extra hard on a pregnant brain and body. And deciding to use medical intervention with something that seems like it should always just happen so naturally and normally is super hard also. Oh, I feel for you. I love you tons and I'm sure little Eloise will be worth every second of the wait.
Wow. My first was a week late. And from then on we found out that my body for some reason just doesn't kick into gear for labor. I have always been induced. I would like to go into natural labor but at the same time since I don't know what it would feel like or what would happen it scares me. But more than likely I will never know :( Being induced is not so bad. Hope baby comes soon! Good luck and we will be thinking of you!
i've been checking your blog almost daily for about a month because you always go early! Crazy you are overdue! Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
Congrats girlie!
