There's been a major call for change and simplification in our home. I quit my job (such a great stay-at-home job) and while the extra money will be missed, I am so glad to just be a mom. Now when the girls happen to be asleep at the same time and I have a spare minute, I don't have to feel guilty if I'm not rushing upstairs to work. I can clean up my kitchen, get dinner started early (I've been neglecting my beloved crockpot; such a helper), work on a project, WRITE, or heaven forbid, take a nap. I am thrilled about this change and grateful for my husband's support in all of this.
I will be posting some pictures soon of our Halloween and Thanksgiving celebrations. They were simple and fun. I am also excited to share some home projects that I dived into the day I decided to quit. I have fallen in love once again with paint. Stay tuned for pics.
For now I have a question for all you bloggers: is it worth it to stay private? This is our family blog with pictures of our little girls; should I protect us and stay private or is it safe enough to just forgo the hassle and be public? Let me know your thoughts. Please.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Hope your pies were as good as ours. holy delicious.

Congrats on being a full time stay at home mom! I am sure those extra free moments are proving to be precious!!
as annoying as it is for people to check the blog when it's private, I actually love that ours is now. I keep the blog for our journal and if friends and family want to look at it they can. But really it is mostly for our records. When it's private I feel like I can write more whatever I want, and don't have to edit the content. Just feels safer. I just wish there was a way people could find my email if they wanted an invite...
I am glad you get to just be a mom now! Thats awesome. Now you can make more time for BLOGGING :D LOL. As for the private or public debate... I agree that private blogs can be a bit annoying to check up on BUT there is something to say for it being for certain eyes only! Especially with all the pervs out there. Brad already told me once Max comes I have to go private too. But it is a hard decision to make. I think if you've already gone private, why not just stay that way.
Miss you! Can't wait to see the Holiday pics.
my opinion: definitely stay private. these are your sweet babies and your family you're talking about. in my book, keep 'em safe because you never know which crazies and sickos are voyeuring your lives. (and believe me, they are if it's not private...i was shocked to find out who was looking at ours). if your friends really are your friends, they'll make the effort to check up every once in a while rather than relying on a rss feed. the ones who don't check...who cares anyway. besides, i just blog to record the memories in a multi-purpose way: it gets them recorded and it communicates what's going on in our lives with those who care to know. those are my 2 cents. :) p.s. welcome to simplification! i hope you love the "extra time"! (although, i don't know how you did it before, because i never have extra time with this job...) love you!
