I'm loving this goal--it's so nice to have something tangible that I'm working towards every day, something I've wanted to do for a long time. Mostly it makes me feel more excited and ready to have kiddo #3 because I'll be in shape and on the right track to stay in shape. I've been cross-training every other day at home with P90X when David's playing tennis. I forgot how hard P90X is. I hate pull-ups. Other than that, thing are good so far.
So the marathon in Phoenix is in January; my bad. I'd really like to run in December so I'm leaning towards the Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll marathon on December 6th. I think my cousin Marlene is already running the half there (Marlene, we need to talk!) and I think it would be pretty interesting to run in Vegas. My mom's only a few hours away so she might be available to come and support as well as one of my best friends, Janelle Willis. (Wanna run with me Janelle?) Yup, feeling pretty good about Vegas. It's closest, soonest, and sounds pretty exciting. I'll be making a final decision soon.
I missed my run this morning because I have an itchy-throat-and-stuffed-up-head thing going on. Should probably get to bed right now, but just wanted to solidify this ambition of mine a little bit more by writing out the when and where. Vegas, here I come.

Have you picked out your rad elvis costume for the run yet? Maybe one with a big eagle on it or just one with LOTS of sequins :D YOU ROCK!

So awesome that you are doing it! Good luck!!
okay, you rock, janelle. you are going to do so well! and good job on keeping up with the training...with 2 kids! that's hard. and pull-ups on top of that? wow. you're awesome. and i can't imagine you looking any better (you hot thing), but i'm sure you'll somehow manage. good luck!
That looks like the funnest marathon! I'm so excited for you, if I were still in Utah I would totally run it with you.

So I told him come it would be fun!
Girl run your to your hearts content! I am training..so far can't run that much but I am planing to run/walk so its all good!
janelle, running a marathon is a great goal! you're going to love it. you might not love the training, or even running the dang thing, but the feeling of accomplishing it is amazing! and you can add it to the list of awesome things you have done in your life, which is long already:) i'll give you my own advice from my experience: the long runs are the ones that matter when it comes to training. if you miss the shorter ones during the week, you'll be fine as long as you get your body (and mind) used to running all those miles. also, don't be afraid of the energy 'goo' they might hand out during the race. embrace the 'goo!' good luck!
