I really do love being surrounded by my kids.
Those toes.
A trip to Great Harvest Bread always brighten our day. Look at that green bread!
Hazel took this of me trying to get some reading in while the girls had their violin lessons.
Look at THAT pose.
Jumping with two different shoes on.
On Saturday (16th), we finished our preparations for our Stake's challenge to bring one name to the temple. And we brought three! David was baptized and confirmed for my grandpa George Dorsey and his older brother Raiford Dorsey. I was baptized and confirmed for Raiford's wife, Cleetis. It was a fantastic experience and our spirits were uplifted as we did this great work for our own ancestors. It's especially neat when they are ancestors you knew well. I know our family will continue to be blessed as we work on our family history.
On Sunday, the girls got some tiny treats underneath the "family rainbow" we made by tracing our hands on colored paper.
A leprechaun left us some tiny notes as well.
I love doing little things that make these holidays fun. Pinterest always helps with those little things.
I decided to got the extra mile this year and make rainbow pancakes. All was going well until I asked David to climb onto the counter for me to reach the food coloring. His foot (the broken one that is just recently out of its cast) was next to the burner and without thinking, I turned it on in preparation to cook my pancakes! I singed the hairs on his foot and ankle as he cried out, "My foot!" Still makes me laugh.
Ah, church. Here's a story I want to remember. Ellie had a tantrum in Sacrament so I had to leave my children with Saren and take her into the Relief Society room. Unfortunately, she seems to only calm down for her dad these days, who was up on the stand of course. But I was feeling very patient, so I just let her thrash and kick while I waited for her to calm down. Well a dear elderly woman in our ward who is already known for her eccentric comments came into the RS room and proceeded to tell me that there was something that I wasn't giving Eloise that she needed. She told me I needed to listen to her and then take her into my lap (impossible at this point) and squeeze the tip of each of her fingers and move them in a circular motion. No joke.
I love Ogden.
Tonight I got our FHE lesson from the Primary manual on Choosing the Right. We had the Mueller's over for dinner and after FHE I helped the girls make their own CTR shields. Whenever they choose the right, they get to place a sticker around the picture of Christ. When they've outlined the picture completely, they get a date with Mom and Dad!
We've learned in the short five years we've been parents that the key to effective discipline is to CHANGE IT UP. Often.
My mom bought me this skirt. Love it when she spoils me.
On Wednesday (20th) we had an impromptu tea party. These girls love our new set we got from Grandma Lyn. Very fancy.
Love this little Lottie bug.
