Baby Phipps #2 is coming around January 30th and we couldn't me more excited. I am now 15 weeks along and we'll find out the sex in three weeks. David wants a boy so bad, but he wanted a boy the first time and I think he's quite smitten with our little girl. We'll be thrilled either way. We definately have more girl names that we both agree on; boys are difficult for us.
The first trimester was a lot different for me this time around. I was nauseous every day for most of the day--but not enough to actually get sick, thank goodness. I also was more tired than I've ever felt in my life. I never take naps, but I had to take one at least once a day while Hazel was sleeping.
But now that I'm into my second trimester, all of that has gone away and I'm pretty normal except for my occasional emotional outburst. Just the other day I was out for a walk with Hazel and I started thinking about the movie "John Q" and I started to tear up (random?). I also can't stand the smell of our house, especially the kitchen...or the thought of avacados.
David just found out that he gets a new car of his choice from a salvaged car dealership that he did some deals with--FOR FREE!. Basically we get a 2006 or 2007 luxury car (he wants an Infinity) that's worth about $37,000 for...free! It will be salvaged, but they give a five year warranty and have been in business long enough that we feel quite confident and comfortable with the choice. Normally, a new car that is within that price range ($30,000) is sold from this company for about half the price or less ($7-15,000). It's an unbelievable deal and we've already sent some friends over to them. If any of you are getting ready to buy a car and would like to take this route, let us know!
My editing is going so well; I feel so lucky to be working with this particular author. We're in the final stages of editing and then it will be sent through the rest of the publication process which takes at least six months. I'm anxious to see it in print!
Hazel is walking and talking and signing! She's been able to do quite a few animals and other signs for a while, but would only do them on command. Now when she hears the word chicken, she signs chicken and makes the noise. She can also tell us when she's hungry or wants milk, or "more." I am a true believer in signing. I love it.
Also, while I'm updating...we just spent the past weekend with the youth of our stake on Trek! It was a lot of work, but everything turned out perfectly. I miss the peace and spirit that fills Martin's Cove. I learned so much....the next post will be all about it.
Love you all!
